Provincial indicators
Compare provinces using indicators built from the government open data this site already holds.
Coverage differs by indicator — from 77 provinces (budget, technology crime) down to 17 (park visitors). A province that does not appear is not reporting; that is not the same as zero. Each indicator also carries its own data year.
Economy and finance
- Provincial budget appropriation
baht
Bureau of the Budget provincial breakdown. ⚠ Reflects where the RECIPIENT AGENCY sits, not where money is spent: Nonthaburi receives ฿223bn against Chiang Mai's ฿22bn because several ministry headquarters are registered there.
- Locally raised share of revenue
%
self_mbaht / total_mbaht. A measure of fiscal autonomy, not of wealth.
- Total local-authority revenue
million baht
Allocated + locally raised + subsidy, summed over the local authorities in the province.
Data publishing
- Open datasets published
datasets
Datasets on the province's own gdcatalog portal, after cross-portal deduplication. Measures publishing activity, not data quality.
Population
- Population in local-authority areas
people
DLA local-authority returns. Excludes Bangkok, which is not a DLA. Sums to ~60.1M across 76 provinces; adding Bangkok would bring it near the national ~66M.
Safety
- Technology-crime case records
cases
Online fraud and technology crime only — not total crime. Complete calendar years only; 2022 holds ten months and 2024 two, so neither is published.
- Technology-crime victims
people
Same scope and same complete-year rule as tech_crime_cases.
Tourism
- National park visitors
people
DNP park attendance aggregated to province. Only provinces with parks appear.
- Tourism revenue
million baht
MOTS provincial series. 38 provinces report it.
- Tourism visitors
people
MOTS provincial series. Coverage is partial — 28 provinces report this series, not 77.
Transport
- Rail incidents
incidents
All rail incident categories summed: collisions, derailments, level-crossing and pedestrian strikes.
