-1-การเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลการวิจัยของโปรแกรมประเมินสมรรถนะนักเรียนมาตรฐานสากล (PISA)โปรแกรมประเมินสมรรถนะนักเรียนมาตรฐานสากล (Programme for InternationalStudent Assessment หรือ PISA) ริเริ่มโดยองค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนา(Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development หรือ OECD) มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินคุณภาพของระบบการศึกษาในการเตรียมความพร้อมให้ประชาชนมีศักยภาพหรือความสามารถพื้นฐานที่จาเป็นต่อการดารงชีวิตในโลกที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลง ซึ่ง PISA เน้นการประเมินสมรรถนะของนักเรียนเกี่ยวกับการใช้ความรู้และทักษะในชีวิตจริงมากกว่าการเรียนรู้ตามหลักสูตรในโรงเรียน PISA ประเมินนักเรียนอายุ 15 ปี ซึ่งเป็นวัยที่จบการศึกษาภาคบังคับ โดยทาการประเมินในทุก ๆ 3 ปี เกี่ยวกับความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่าน (Reading Literacy) ความฉลาดรู้ด้านคณิตศาสตร์(Mathematical Literacy) และความฉลาดรู้ด้านวิทยาศาสตร์ (Scientific Literacy) การประเมินนักเรียนจะวัดความรู้ทั้ง 3 ด้าน ดังกล่าวไปพร้อมกัน แต่จะเน้นหนักด้านใดด้านหนึ่งในแต่ละรอบการประเมิน นอกจากนี้ PISA ยังมีการประเมินด้านที่เป็นนวัตกรรมใหม่ในแต่ละรอบการประเมินด้วยส าหรับประเทศไทยจะดาเนินการเก็บข้อมูลรอบการวิจัยหลัก (Main Survey) ในเดือนสิงหาคมของปีที่ประเมิน ทั้งนี้ ตั้งแต่ PISA 2015 เป็นต้นมา ประเทศไทยได้เปลี่ยนรูปแบบการประเมินจากการทาแบบทดสอบด้วย
