หน้า ๗เล่ม ๑๓๐ ตอนพิเศษ ๑๑ ง ราชกิจจานุเบกษา ๒๕ มกราคม ๒๕๕๖ประกาศสํานักนายกรัฐมนตรีเรื่อง กําหนดชื่อภูมิศาสตร์เป็นมาตรฐานของประเทศ (ฉบับที่ ๓)ตามที่คณะกรรมการชื่อภูมิศาสตร์แห่งชาติ ได้พิจารณากําหนดชื่อภูมิศาสตร์เพิ่มเติม จํานวน๑,๐๖๑ ชื่อ จําแนกออกเป็น ชื่อน้ําตก จํานวน ๙๕๖ ชื่อ และชื่อเกาะ จํานวน ๑๐๕ ชื่อ ทั้งนี้ตามประกาศคณะกรรมการชื่อภูมิศาสตร์แห่งชาติ เรื่อง กําหนดชื่อภูมิศาสตร์เป็นมาตรฐานของประเทศลงวันที่ ๑๙ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๕ นั้นกระทรวงกลาโหมได้เสนอให้มีประกาศชื่อภูมิศาสตร์ดังกล่าว เพื่อให้ใช้เป็นมาตรฐานเดียวกันทั่วประเทศ คณะรัฐมนตรีได้พิจารณาแล้วเห็นชอบด้วย จึงได้มีมติให้ใช้ชื่อภูมิศาสตร์ตามประกาศคณะกรรมการชื่อภูมิศาสตร์แห่งชาติ เรื่อง กําหนดชื่อภูมิศาสตร์เป็นมาตรฐานของประเทศ ลงวันที่๑๙ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๕ ทั้งนี้ ตั้งแต่วันที่ประกาศเป็นต้นไปประกาศ ณ วันที่ ๓ มกราคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๖ยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตรนายกรัฐมนตรี
