The Yala Provincial Community Development Office conducts annual surveys of Basic Needs Data (BND) to serve as data for improving quality of life. Basic Needs Data reflects the characteristics of the desired Thai society according to minimum standard criteria of the indicators, indicating what aspects of quality of life Thais should have and the minimum living standards they should maintain over a certain period. It enables citizens to assess the current quality of life of themselves, their families, and their villages/communities, identify issues to be resolved, and encourages public participation in self, family, and community development.
