Project to promote cessation of agricultural burning

Project to promote cessation of burning in agricultural areas by farmers, where officials disseminate knowledge and create a network of farmers free from burning. Nakhon Sawan Province has experienced regular annual smoke haze and air pollution, primarily caused by open burning in forests and agricultural areas. This burning significantly impacts public health and the national economy, and directly harms agricultural professions by degrading soil fertility, increasing production costs, and reducing yields below potential levels. The government has prioritized preventing and solving this problem, assigning the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to control agricultural burning, and the Department of Agricultural Extension (under the Royal Project Foundation, Land Management and Agricultural Engineering Division) to promote cessation of burning. The project aims to enhance knowledge and understanding among farmers regarding the impacts, present agricultural technology alternatives to burning, encourage farmer participation in prevention and solution efforts, and create models for burning-free agriculture to support future cessation of burning in agricultural areas.
