Although investment is high, it is currently the most popular and fastest-growing retail type, such as Tesco Lotus, Carrefour, Big-C, and Makro. All of these are large retail stores majority-owned by foreign entities with high purchasing power. They are said to be destroying the traditional retail system and causing harm to Thai-owned retail stores.
