Number of elderly persons surviving by begging
Beggars are persons who violate the Begging Control Act B.E. 2559. (Section 13 prohibits any person from begging. The following acts are considered begging: (1) Asking for money or property from others for livelihood, whether by words, text, or any gesture. (2) Using any method to evoke pity from others to give money or property. Performing skills, whether playing music or other performances, to obtain money or property from the audience or listeners. Asking for money or property from relatives or friends, or soliciting according to the Law on the Control of Soliciting, is not considered begging under this Act.)
