Sunday Buddhist Education Centers (SBECs) are Buddhist organizations established in communities by monks to serve as a source for cultivating moral and ethical values for children, youth, and the public, acting as an institution for developing the quality of life for children, youth, and the public. SBECs are encouraged to play an increasingly important role each year to align with changing social contexts, with strong cooperation from the Sangha, the state sector, and the private sector in the area. These partners collaborate to develop SBECs to ensure quality, enabling them to play a role in community development. The Provincial Cultural Office is the local implementing unit responsible for overseeing, promoting, and continuously developing SBECs.
