Ligeh performers registry
Ligey is a local performing art of Phetchaburi, passed down through many generations and widely popular, featuring distinctive costumes. Ligey, or 'Yike' as locals call it, is a traveling drama troupe hired by hosts to perform at temples or homes for annual events, ordinations, and funerals, or to set up a stage to collect admission fees. A Ligey stage is a slightly raised platform with a wooden bench in the center for performance, a raised area behind for the piphat orchestra, and a painted canvas backdrop to hide the backstage dressing area from the audience.
