Employed persons by sex. Employed persons refer to individuals aged 15 years and over who, during the 7 days prior to the survey, had any of the following characteristics: 1) Worked for at least 1 hour and received wages, salary, profit, dividends, or compensation in cash or kind; 2) Worked for at least 1 hour without pay in a business or farm owned by the household head or a household member; 3) Did not work or worked less than 1 hour (but normally have a regular job), and either: 3.1) Still received compensation, wages, benefits, or profits from work or business during the period of non-work; or 3.2) Did not receive compensation, wages, benefits, or profits from work or business during the period of non-work, but still have a job or business to return to.
